I was forcefully given over to a fat, balding, ugly Chinese businessman who resembled the statues of Buddha I had seen around my home as a child. His cheeks made him look like a dead blowfish. It was unusual for Asians to be so overweight, and I immediately lost all respect for him. He looked horrible. I guess that was why he was there buying company, but even money couldn’t help him.

“Yoshi. You beautiful woman,” he said. “I see you Korean. Best lovers.”

I had been told that his name was Mr. Chuan Wang. He asked me to call him Chuan. I wasn’t planning on calling him shit. Instead, I was planning on trying to get the fuck away from him and making a run for it once again if I could.

Mr. Wang grabbed onto my arm tightly when the auctioneers turned me over to him. I had looked out into the crowd and saw the man who took me from Bryce and Lamar. He was the head muthafucka in charge, I guess.

Mr. Wang had to practically drag me out of the building because I was barely moving my feet on my own accord. When we got into that same parking lot I had come through when I’d first arrived, he stopped walking and we waited. He held onto my arm like he could sense that I wanted to run away. I guess he was used to this type of arrangement; most of the women he bought at auction probably showed resistance. I doubted very much that any of us was there voluntarily.

After we waited for a short period of time, Mr. Wang’s driver finally pulled up in front of us in a black Bentley. Usually, I would have been overjoyed about being in such a beautiful luxury car, but it was much different for me. I mean, I used to own cars right up there with the Bentley I was about to get into with this fat, ugly, rich-ass man. But it didn’t matter what car it was. I didn’t want to ride in it at all. The driver got out of the Bentley and opened the door for Mr. Wang and me, but I couldn’t move. I stood still. Even if I wanted to, I was unable to move from that spot.

“Something wrong, Yoshi?” Mr. Wang asked me.

“Yes. I don’t want to go with you,” I said, refusing to move. I thought I’d just try honesty and see where that shit got me.

“Ohh. Yoshi, you be careful. I pay. You come,” Mr. Wang said, tugging on my arm roughly. He started smiling like I should be overjoyed by his presence. When he smiled that’s when I saw how yellow and nasty his teeth were.

“I am here against my will,” I blurted out, still trying to level with him.

“Not my problem, Yoshi. We go,” he said in an irritated tone. Then he clicked his teeth, and all of a sudden two men were standing in front of me.

I knew they were there to help me get me in that car.
